Jump Rope Fitness Workout

Posted by fitnesscoach101 on August 24, 2008

There’s one thing that boxers, basketball players, football players, and martial artists do commonly: they all jump rope to effectively workout their body. Obviously it’s not just a children’s toy – but it’s for people who want to gain a powerful advantage over their competition, or for those who just want a good cardiovascular workout.

You too can use a jump rope for your workout. All you have to do is get a jump rope that fits your size. It’s only going to cost you about $10-$15 for even the best jump ropes. You also only need a place to jump rope that will allow you to jump without touching the ceiling or the wall. When you compare this to an exercise machine, such as a treadmill or a stair-stepper, you’re going to be spending much less money compared to those $1000+ machines.

Not only is a jump rope cheap to buy, but it’s extremely effective. That is exactly why it’s used by many athletes to boost their cardiovascular endurance. Short of running up a steep hill, there isn’t anything else that’s better at working out your body faster and better.

When you bike, walk, or jog, you’re not using your arms as much as when you jump rope. When you jump rope, it makes your whole body work together, which strengthens and tones your whole body. Not only that, but the skipping movement when you jump rope is a lot less stressful on your legs than running is, which allows you to gain the health benefits you want without the bad effects such as bad knees and ankles.

Other positive health benefits from jumping rope:

1. Jump ropes can improve your hand, eye, and foot coordination
2. It’s low impact, but can burn more calories than an 8-minute mile run.
3. Improves your posture by strengthening your core muscles around your back and spine.
4. Strengthens your bones and muscles in the lower body.
5. Tones your thighs, abs, butt, arms, and chest – basically, it’s toning your whole body!

What you need to begin:
1. The right shoes: preferably cross trainers, or something with a great cushion to absorb the shock of your feet constantly hitting the floor.
2. Comfortable clothes: sweatpants or shorts and a t-shirt should be fine
3. Space: You don’t want your rope to hit the ceiling or the wall, so find an adequate room or go outdoors to do your workout.
4. You may want to avoid carpets, grass/dirt, and concrete. Try to jump on top of something that will give against your body. Wood or linoleum can be good locations.

How long should you be jumping rope?
For every half-hour of jogging you would normally do, you would want to do the equivalent in jump roping, which is 10-15 minutes of jump rope. So that means if you would do 1 hour of jogging, you will get the same workout if you jump rope for 20-30 minutes. You’ll be saving yourself a lot of time due to the effectiveness of jump ropes!

Since jump ropes can burn mega calories, you’ll begin to see some signs of losing weight in just a couple weeks – if not, several days. Best of all, jumping rope will help with a healthy heart and cuts down the chances of heart attacks, strokes, and heart disease.

Also… did I ever mention that jump ropes can be FUN? Walking, jogging, or doing anything on a stationary machine can be boring, but jump ropes actively involve your mind so that you don’t mess up – this will distract you from all of your surroundings and prevent you from becoming bored with the workout.

So go grab a jump rope and jump! Watch your fat loss speed up, your body improve, and feel great about your body’s new health and energy.

Metabolism Stimulating Techniques

Posted by fitnesscoach101 on August 19, 2008

You’ve all heard it before: the greatest way to lose fat is to boost your metabolism. It sounds great, but how exactly do you do it? What can you do to enhance your metabolic rate and increase weight loss?

First, you have to know what exactly metabolism is so that you know what’s going to be effective and what isn’t. Metabolism is the speed at which your body processes energy (burns calories). 9 Weight Loss Facts to Keep In Mind

Posted by fitnesscoach101 on August 14, 2008

Many people find that weight loss is one of the most difficult tasks. They always hop on top of a scale to see their progress, only go get disappointed. The reason why this happens is because many people don’t know about the essential weight loss facts. They are misled about information regarding weight loss. Before you go and get even more frustrated at losing weight, take a look at these important facts that will get you started on the right path.

Weight Loss Facts #1: Muscle Weights More Than Fat

If you’re exercising and weight lifting, don’t feel bad if it seems that there’s no progress on the scales. Even if you find that your weight is increasing, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re getting fatter. When you’re building muscle from exercising and weight lifting, you’ll see that the muscle weighs more than fat. Your main goal should be FAT LOSS rather than weight loss.

Weight Loss Facts #2: Starvation is Bad for the Metabolism

A lot of people think that by cutting back on calories, they’ll magically begin to lose lots of fat. The truth is that when you starve yourself, you’re being counter-productive. Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle Review

Posted by fitnesscoach101 on August 6, 2008

Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle is currently one of the top selling weight loss and muscle books being sold today. The author, Tom Venuto, says that the ebook will “reveal simple proven science of fat loss.” A ton of people have said that this is among the best fitness books created so far; therefore, I decided to see what was special about this ebook.

I just want to say that before I even had the idea of buying it, I was really skeptical about this ebook’s promises. Seriously, for something that is in the weight loss industry, I’ve learned that a ton of fads and products “claim” to be amazing. I believed that this ebook was lying too about being able to help you lose fat… I was thinking that Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle could have just been using some crazy gimmick.

The main reason why I even heard of this ebook, and why I decided to even buy it, was because of one of my friends. He first recommended it to me, and then he kept on bugging me until I got it! I hadn’t seen him for a little more than a month, and he had sent me a message stating that he lost about 24 pounds using methods that he applied from this ebook. Of course, I was thinking that he was lying at first – but then I met up with him one day and there he was – proof of him looking much better than before. He definitely seemed much more lean compared to when I last saw him.

Now you know how I’m here at this computer creating a review for Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle. Let’s take a look at some of the facts regarding it…

What comes in your “Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle” package?
First, let me tell you a little about the ebook itself – when you receive this package, you’re getting this gigantic fitness book – When I say gigantic, I mean a fitness and weight loss book that has 340 pages of pure information (which is a lot when you compare it to other fitness books out on the market). Most of the pages are just full of text. There aren’t pictures to see except for only a few tables here and there.

Your package of Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle, also comes with various bonuses.

You can see from the titles of these e-books that they were made to compliment your new and healthy diet that you’ll have after you finish reading Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle. Having these three bonus books will help you make your own diet plan. You’re not going to be eating tuna, chicken, and egg whites all day. There’s much more variety than that. His bonus books contain various foods that are good for you, and a whole list of items that you should completely avoid. Overall, getting his free bonus books adds a really good value to Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle. You’re probably receiving about an additional 75+ pages of information. Read the rest of this entry »

2 Absolute Ways to Lose Fat Easily!

Posted by fitnesscoach101 on August 6, 2008

Weight loss isn’t as easy as fad diet experts want you to think. It actually requires that you cause tremendous alterations in your life style, of which some are so complex that they’d drive you crazy, whereas others are so easy that you wouldn’t even notice any changes! The important rule for weight loss is that if you consume less then you usually do, you’ll be able to get rid of some pounds. Regrettably, it’s not as simple as it seems, due to the fact that a lot of people often have troubles keeping their mouths in control. In this post I will show you 2 methods to cut back on calories and stay in great shape.

1. Substitute big plates with tinier ones: You might not realize it, but if you eat on tiny plates, you’ll be able to cut back on your food consumption by a large degree. Here’s how: whenever you put a little quantity of food on a big  plate, you’ll believe that you’re actually eating really little amounts of food. This idea would influence you to eat increasingly higher amounts, which isn’t a really good idea. Nonetheless, if you put an equivalent amount of your food on a tinier plate, your brain is going to think that you’re actually eating a good amount of food, since your eyes are going to see that your plate looks full! When you do this, you’ll be able to create an illusion in your brain and have it think that you’re consuming a big quantity of food, when in reality that’s not actually true. Many people tend to underestimate how powerful this technique is, even though it’s an extremely easy method to cut back on food consumption!

2.  Consuming quality (healthy) food is the important part of the game: When we’re talking about weight loss, not only is it that the quantity of your food that it’s important, but it also turns out to be the quality. Obviously, if you’re going to be consuming foods from fast food restaurants, you’ll find that their foods are high in calories. Even if you say you’re going to lower your portions, you’ll still gain weight instead of losing weight. This is also the same with packaged and processed foods; most of them are very high in calories. Many processed foods are starting to market themselves as healthy low-calorie and low-fat foods, but don’t trust everything they say! Check out the food’s labels and come to a decision yourself! It’s also helpful to learn about the number of calories of common foods such as veggies and fruits. You’ll be able to find the calorie information for each food that you eat because most of the info is found online for free! Be sure that you do your part before buying any food products, rather than listening to the marketing and hype!
